A lady preparing lavash
My husband and I spent a few days in Armenia in summer 2018. On our first day in Yerevan we were well determined to try local food. We asked a bit around and eventually we were suggested a restaurant called LAVASH. There it was possible to try the tipical thin bread the restaurant took its name from and to see how it was prepared.
After visiting the city in the morning, we ran to the restaurant and sat in the external terrace. Everything caught our attention there: colours, shapes, smells... in a couple of minutes our mouths were watering. We ordered a couple of typical dishes and, of course, some lavash. The food was brough after about 10 minutes and we enjoyed each and every bite of it.
While I was walking inside the restaurant asking for the bill, I saw a huge window. Behind that, a group of three people in tipical clothes was sitting on the floor, preparing lavash. I immediately fell in love with that scene. Especially the lady sitting on the left had something special to me. She looked so calm and so sad at the same time. I wanted to keep a memory of that beautiful scene, so I took my camera. She spotted me and smiled at me once I took the picture. We looked at each other for a few seconds, and I felt a deep complicity with that lady, that most probably I won't see anymore. I will never forget her.
